Game The Darkest Tales

A demo of this toy appeared boomerangbetcasino.co.uk on Steam and in some news release it was praised so much that I decided to check it out. I downloaded it onto my computer and thought about trying it over the weekend.
But it so happened that my son decided to play it first. I was busy, so I didn’t even look at what was happening on the monitor, but the guy got stuck somewhere at the very beginning, then said that the game was scary and he wouldn’t play it, and switched to air warfare, destroying enemy biplanes in the skies of the First World War.
And in the evening I launched the game and decided to check what was there and what it was about.
The game turned out to be a platformer (if I’m not confusing anything, maybe it’s a metroidvania?). In general, there you run from left to right and along the way you jump, dodge and fight.
We play as a teddy bear, who was called by… a fairy. Well, I don’t know, some kind of luminous entity. The two of them must save the little girl – the owner of this very bear, because she is overcome by nightmares. And they can help by penetrating into the land of dreams and causing a stir there by fighting with various monsters. Well, and, of course, defeat these monsters!
There’s a rather long opening sequence where the bear resists the fairy’s call because the girl abandoned him long ago, but then, nevertheless, he gives in to persuasion.
Yes, the game is probably still not for children – the first person the bear meets is Little Red Riding Hood, who disembowels the wolf. She’s clearly not the victim here. Actually, she warns that the forest into which the bear goes is a very unsafe place.
At first, the bear is armed only with the fairy’s advice, but over time, the same fairy possesses scissors, which miraculously turn into the bear’s weapon – there is a blade in each paw.
And already armed, he moves on, sometimes evading a fight, and sometimes moving towards a gap.
The toy is quite bouncy and “fun”, but not something I like to play with, so I didn’t go far.
But it’s worth noting that everything was done perfectly – the graphics are just right, the gameplay is challenging and the story is interesting – fans of the genre will definitely like it!
