Black Mirror (2017): Video Review

“Black Mirror” is not only a series about the rape of a pig, but also a cult trilogy of quests among connoisseurs of the genre, completed in 2011. However, after the bankruptcy of the former copyright holder, the copyright for Black Mirror was transferred to the publishing house THQ Nordic, which decided to restart the series. See the results in our video review.

Well, don’t be so critical, unenlightened people will think that this is a bad series)

2017 is just around the corner (it’s almost 2018), and developers are stepping on the same rake as at the beginning of the 2000s: sitting on two chairs at once. I will never be able to understand this logic: “Mmmmm, fans loved and bought the game for such and such qualities on PC… But let’s throw all this out to make the game closer and more accessible to the mass player on consoles. ».

As a result, fans and lovers of quests do not need this. The story has been told and closed a long time ago. The quest itself is not here, it’s a movie. But the controls are console, which quest lovers don’t sit at and don’t like to sit at.

Schoolchildren and console players don’t need this either. This is not a Telltails movie. This is not a walking simulator. This is a heavily cut quest without puzzles.

Hype fans and fans of the series of the same name don’t need this either. This is not a unique arthouse creep setting. This is not a game based on the series of the same name. This is a remake of an old game.

All this speaks of the pink-riches.co.uk creative impotence of developers and publishers, which is very sad.

For those who are interested, in addition to the quests with which Solodilov expands our horizons on quests in the section of the monthly game release calendar, the K’NOSSOS turkey will be released at the beginning of next year. A demo is already available, and as a quest it seems to be of interest.

Just recently I was thinking “there hasn’t been a review rated “garbage” for a long time,” and then – voila!

The review text is excellent, compiled correctly, but why jabber so much?? I immediately remembered what would be written if I entered the word “when” into Kulakov’s chat.

But Total wars, civilizations and x-coms sell in millions of copies. It’s unlikely that quests can boast at least half a million copies. And yes: the more people know about representatives of the genre, the more alive it is.

New Year’s trash! Wow, the last one was 5 months and 1 day ago.
It’s a pity for the first part and the genre in general. I really loved both the Syberia series and things like The Voyage to the Moon or Aura: Fate of the Ages.

All this painfully reminded me of the game Still Life, how I happily completed the first part, and how I painfully completed the second. It’s sad that distribution companies once again want to squeeze money out of famous brands 🙁
P.S. Siberia began this year, Black Mirror summed up:((

Played by 3.5 fans of the genre? So-so achievement. Ask the average player what modern quests they know. There will most likely be two answers: 1) “Deponia”, 2) “Who the hell knows”.

Hmm… And the same studio created the excellent comedy quests Book of Unwritten Tales. Yes, they already had not very successful 3D quests like The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief, but it’s still quite playable. What happened this time? Or King Art doesn’t know how to do drama? And what does technical execution have to do with it, when the same duology and a half about the Book of Unwritten Stories is executed perfectly from this point of view.

It’s all sad, in short. And so the genre is dead, and you can’t get by on Daedalic Entertainment alone, besides, not everything they do is done at least “well,” and then the Kings screwed up. Rubbish – however, hello.

P.S. Sorry for this cry from the heart.

I didn’t expect this, at one time I enjoyed playing through the first part of Black Mirror, the second and third parts (I think the game was a trilogy, I don’t remember) were weaker, but still not so bad. And I was thinking, thanks to the remake, to plunge into this quest again, but apparently not this time.

My heart felt that nothing good would come from the restart. Already the trailer was alarming. Thanks for the review, I’ll return to my favorite classics 🙂
